There is a saying “A man is known by the company he keeps. Good company can make a man and bad company can ruin him” I don’t see it entirely. I believe a person’s true self is the very reflection of his will. In another word, if a man’s will determined, then it is only a matter of time.
Everyone has gone through the rebellion phase varying on severity. I went through the “runaway” phase (not my proudest moment) but in the end I found my way back. It wasn’t the company I kept that made me ran away from home. It was my ‘will’ that led me to run. It was my determination to prove my parents wrong. Now, looking back, I had inflicted a lot of pain on my parents and at the same time, on myself. I realized it was my limited judgment influenced my will.
Through my family I saw the true reflection of my true self and its affliction. It wasn’t the company I kept that made me fall into the rabbit hole. It is easier to blame on someone or something than to see the origin of my mistakes but I realized I have to live up to my own reflection so I can rise above it and be better.
